no one knows for real if the soul exists although i believe there's a book that concludes it is. According to many religions like Christianity, Judaism, etc. the soul is the eternal being of a person that when they die it goes to heaven and or hell depending on a faith. Buddhists and hinduists believe in reincarnation, but still a soul exists. One reason it may not be seen is because it may not exist although i don't believe that. It might not be seen because you might need a sixth sense. People with higher and more active brainwaves usually say they tend to see them. They are psychics.
The concept makes no sense, and it hasn't been proven yet.
This sounds like what they told Galileo about his theory of the earth revolving around the sun. I believe that souls do exist. Maybe you can't see your soul because it's made of a purer matter than our flesh. Or its molecules may vibrate at a frequency that's too fast for us to see.
TBH I don't believe in souls, either god. The only reason these things were invented were to explain things that couldn't be explained by science yet, at the old days. People wanted answers, and the myth was exactly the right thing to give. Anyways, I still believe that faith IS a good thing. (sorry for getting off topic, I'll stop blabbering now)
People back then didn't understand many things: rain, the human body, sickness, earth quakes, or anything of that sort. Take for an example the greek mythology, they believed zeus made lightning, that there was a god of good harvest, the goddess of love or something (I'm not an expert) and stuff like that. Also a soul was meant to explain the human body, and how can a human die, that is answered by things like heaven or hell.
