America is suffering from countless problems. We as a people are becoming less connected with each other and becoming slaves to our desires. Our sense of pride in our country and in our communities is becoming something of the past, a rare item worthy of the Antiques Road Show. Our government has abandoned us and we need to step up and fix the problems spreading like a plague throughout our country. Those in power are either corrupt or greedy. In order to fix the problems with our country, unpopular choices must be made.

Our dependency on foreign countries is dropping our country to its knees. Approximately 1/3 of private lands throughout our country are owned by foreign citizens. American money is becoming worthless. We as Americans, rather then supporting fellow American businesses are so concerned with buying the cheapest product, that it is causing Americans nationwide to lose jobs and businesses to countries like China. Which in case anyone forgot is still a communist country (Remember that big war that sparked huge controversy in the sixties and seventies known as the Vietnam War that was solely to stop the spread of communism.)? American money is continually spent on products from other countries. There is only one television manufacturing company left in the United States. Electronic products are being purchased solely from Asian countries which further lowers the worth of the American dollar.

Millions of tax dollars paid by American citizens are being spent on illegal aliens that are bedding down in a country they have no right to be in. Americans, consumed with greed, happily hire cheap foreign labor, and destroy our country a little more. These foreign workers are not only taking jobs from red-blooded Americans like you and I, they are also sending the American money they make back down to their starving families in Mexico.

This further lowers the worth of the American dollar.

Life in Mexico isn't great. Ninety percent of people living on the Mexico border with the United States want to live here. We should simply invade. They want to live in America. Well America should just expand and take over. What is the worst that could happen? We are already hated by most countries of the world. We are a world power; most of the countries that hate us are not world powers. What is the worst they can do? Send us an angry letter?

Mexican government is corrupt, nobody disagrees with that. American government is corrupt as well, so the transition for Mexican citizens would be easy. Everyone is concerned with sweatshops and child labor, by taking over Mexico; this would alleviate some of those issues as well.

American tax dollars are continually being spent on the illusion of security. Millions of Mexicans jump the border annually, but recently we started requiring a passport for Americans and Canadians to visit each other. When was the last time you heard complaints that Canadians were coming to our country and stealing our jobs? Now when you visit a foreign country and are returning home you are met with lines, metal detectors, cavity searches, and suspicion. It would be easier to fly down to Mexico on your way back to the U.S. and just jump the border.

We are becoming so concerned with the rights of people who don't even belong here that Americans are suffering. Nowhere in the constitution does it state that as soon as you cross the border you get the same rights as Americans. Yet we continue to worry about the rights of a bunch of criminals crossing our border illegally. Not only do we send them home without any consequences, but we feed them on the way. So, we send the message that, if your bored, take a hike to America and we will feed you and take you on a scenic tour on they way home, and if you like it, try again, it's free. No wonder other countries don't take us seriously.

The people we elect to govern our country are failing miserably. The decisions needed to be made aren't popular. Our national debt is outrageous; the only solution is to raise taxes. Anyone that raises taxes is immediately hated by the public and is guaranteed not to be re-elected. So, politicians in order to retain their political positions, are unwilling to make the decisions to help our country. We elect them to make decisions to help our country, and all they do is make decisions that will keep them in office.

Our country is basically a bad political joke. During election times, we argue about whose political party thinks what. We divide amongst ourselves into red states or blue states, elephants and donkeys. In my opinion they are all jackasses. We have political campaigns costing millions of dollars that could be better spent on the well being of America instead of slanderous television adds. Most of the campaign funds do not come directly from the running candidate's pocket; it comes from lobbyists and private parties. These lobbyists and private parties are not giving it away out of the kindness of their hearts. They are purchasing future favors (can you spell corruption?).

Our concern with political correctness is another huge issue. It seems to me that approximately every year the minorities that fill our country get a name change that is "less offensive". Can we call them "Asians", or is it "Orientals", maybe they are "Asian-Americans", or do we need to call them by the country they reign from? Should we call them "Chinese", or maybe "Chinese-Americans"? What if I can't tell what country they are from, how do I avoid offending them then?

Racism is another huge problem in America. Black people, or "African-Americans" (have to be sure not to offend anyone), are the racists of the 21st century. Excuse me "Tyrone", I'm sorry you have to do 15 years for raping and killing three women. You are right, it must be racism in the system, it can't possibly be that you are a parasite of the human race, oh no. It must be the "white man".

Yes slavery was horrible, yes it was an injustice done to your race, but come on. Lincoln freed the slaves 130 years ago. How long does it take to get your act together? Segregation was abolished, but racism remained in the southern states where slavery was so prevalent. So what did the free blacks do? They stayed in the states where they were enslaved, with the racist people that originally enslaved them (apparently it wasn't that bad). It seems to me that if I lived in a place where I was mistreated for years I would move.

Three out of five people in jail currently are black. Coincidence? I think not. It seems that the African-Americans in this country have a conviction to being convicted, but as Americans we can't say that, so it must be racism in the system. One in every three black men is somehow involved in the American correctional system. The numbers don't lie.

Black people in this country parade their pride in being black. Whether it is tattoos of "Mama Africa", or dreadlocks and Rastafarian hats, they show their pride in their heritage. We as a society say look at them showing their respect of their ancestry and say, "see how they have endured through the struggle?" But oh no, if I like how I look with a shaved head, then I must be a Nazi. If I am proud of my heritage and say "White power" then I am labeled as a racist.

If you want to talk about injustices talk about what happened to the Native-Americans. The people who actually owned this land. White people were being oppressed by the Royalty of England. So we moved here and dazzled the Natives with strange items like chocolate and guns. So no we didn't steal their land. We purchased it for the cost of three beads and a button. Then proceeded to place them in concentration camps without the barbwire, and called them "reservations".

Everyone likes to envision white men going to Africa and knocking out the natives with our clubs and throwing them on boats and taking them to "the new world". Unfortunately, that is not how things went down. Africans were living the high life until their own tribesmen went "Hey! These white boys need some help developing their new country, let's shoot some darts at Kunta Kinte and sell his ass for some shirts, shoes, and boomsticks." Now I admit it is a little screwed up, but basically we bought them from a country that didn't want them to begin with.

America is riddled with problems. Everyone points the finger. Nobody comes up with a solution. This article will probably be considered racist, anarchist and most of all propaganda. Nobody ever said the truth was easy to swallow. I have heard it is best to end a paper with a quote.

"Politicians are a lot like diapers, they should be changed frequently and for the same reason."

lol what does this have to do with obama? did you read the post? party politics is another reason America is going down the drain. i bet you hate obama! loved bush, hated Clinton, loved the old bush. Party politics makes everyone so blind, we hate these people because they are on a different party. How can you hate obama when he has not even been in office yet?

We have problems because of random people claiming to be the president and seemingly dedicated protesters writing exceptionally long unreadable posts.

If the post is too long for you then don't read it. The post was supposed to get people to read, think, and spark areas of interest so that we may have some constructive arguments.

Well if you want people to read it, make it a bit shorter.

Why am I not surprised? But that isn't the point, as that long "article" has very few "big" words in it.

for people who read forums throughout day i don't think that a longer entry than usual is going to stop them from reading. it is actually not that long. it is a fairly short essay length in fact. if it is too long than don't read it and don't comment on it. but for those that actually read the entry i would love to hear comments.
