I think that it is possible that some people in trials that haved pleaded temporary insanity, wre not actually insane at the time of the crime, but just trying to avoid jail time.

Honestly I don't think it matters if you have any mental condition. You did it, you go to jail.

I completely disagree. What if you had the brain of a five year-old? Sending someone like that to jail would be sending a five year old to jail.

Basically, the man posed as a woman for several months for the hell of it, and then killed his elderly neighbor, mutilated the body by severing the limbs, put the limbs in garbage bags, and then threw them into Galveston Bay. The limbs were found, and his DNA was found all over.

he did not show up for his next court hearing, and was found in Pennsylvania after attempting to steal a chicken sandwich and a band-aid from a store , with $500 in his pockets.

That sounds somewhat insane to me.

I personally think that pleading insanity is a last resort for weird criminals. Durst was not insane-simply troubled and weird. His family members admit to his strangeness being present through most of his life, and previous psychological testing turned up negative for any sort of disorders.

That doesn`t mean he is sane. Sometimes even the experts get it wrong.

Though, based on just that information alone, he still sounds sane.

And I believe that story is the telltale heart.

Anyone in here familiar with Edgar Allen Poe? He once wrote a famous short story (Albeit the name escapes me right now.)

Yes i belive its called tell tale heart.

I think when things like husbands find out about wives affairs and go into blind rages and kil them and then regret it, their rage can blind their judgement. In France it is called a crime of passion and it is commonly used by lawyers to defend their clients. Im not sure it is a great idea but it certainly is an interesting one.

Temporary Insanity in it's legal sense, is encountered upon often during Trials of Infanticide.

I'm sure most of you have heard of women, who gave birth to a baby, and later killed it?

Temporary insanity can be pleaded by these women under the stance of Postnatal Depression.

Wow scary thing is that i just finished reading that story great in my opinion.
and I believe that no matter whether you're crazy or not you shouldn't be given a pardon for that reason.

Pleading anger issues can reduce your sentence in pakistan
Like "He did his so i killed him in rage and i'm sorry"
but pleading insane is pretty impossible to fly and if proven insane you'll be thrown in nut house for un defined period of time.
