I personally love the A-10 Warthog. It has two huge engines and can really move, it's one of the best attack planes because it can move in at low levels and it carries TONS of weapons. It helped the us win Desert Storm.
But I am also a fan of the F-15c air-to-air combat fighter, and the F-15e duel role strike fighter.
As for my least favorite plane, i don't like the new F-35 coming out because it is cheap and versatile.
I think you mean the p51. But how wise. Many people make the mistake of thinking it is the plane itslef that was fantastic. Before the RAF gave it the Rolls Royce engine it was a fairly average aircraft.
THe F-22A Raptor..its the best Multi-Role fighter in the world, but that clasifies as a jet. So, the P-51D Mustang takes my vote as the best fighter airplane.
The F22 although it can perform some air to ground is primarily an air superiority fighter, not a multi role aircraft. The f25 on the other hand is a multi role.
Fave plane:hawker hurricane best plane: focke wulf
I'm guessing no one has heard of any of my three favorites. Shame, they were all gems, but who remembers yesterday...
I remember them. I did so many hours on the history of the RAF, in IOT, how could i forget.
I have a fondness for the Fokker Dr. I. Wicked turn radius (to the right), and an over all interesting plane, despite it's flaws.
Undoubtedly proved itself against the inferior RAF Sopwiths. Solid machine for its time.
The blackbird was incredible for having stealth as early in the 20th century as it did, and its speed was phenomenal, plus it looked bad@ss.
The bronco is a very interesting aircraft from a pilots perspective as the sorties you would fly would test a wide variety of skills, from ground attack, reconnaissance to troop deployment and pick up.
