In a previous thread, Zophia contended that natural selection "no longer applies". I countered by saying that we are natural beings and therefore natural selection occurs by definition, regardless of how the parameters change. Zophia correctly pointed out that this depends on your definition of 'natural'.

So what is your definition of 'natural'? Keep in mind that your reply may reflect your views on such topics as contraception and abortion, homosexual relationships and stem-cell research.

Natural is all that has not been made by humans or altered thought his can be debatable since you "can" say that if it's human made then it's natural since humans are natural. Natural selection in these eras is more about the family or culture you're born into which affect your social life. The whole concept has been changed for humans.

I looked at the title, and was all 'is that one my fault?'...

And I pretty much agree with The_Masquerade.

Though... 'Natural' is a definition applied to things by humans, to indicate - well what is it applied to indicate? That it has not been altered by them? I honestly don't know, but that would be my guess.

Behavioral patterns are an even worse field to discuss 'what is natural' in...

Natural to me is about behaviour and thought proccesses. If for whatever reason you have a desire to do anything or a desire to behave in a certain way then acting according to those feelings is the natural thing to do. Repressing those feelings is for that person the unnatural thing to do.

If you get my meaning?
