Ok,really obviously he wasn't talking about now....For back between 2000-2005 the ps2 was the best console by SO far...it wasn't even close...And since now the ps3 can't even beat the 360 and its newer,PS2.
I remember reading that the PS2 was the most successful console ever though im not sure how true that is (and im not sure if the Wii has overtaken it now).

The PS2 is still the most successful console. Though it is only a matter of time when the Wii will overtake it in sales.

lets say u have both u have the saem game for both of the stations of course its gonna be better on ps3 by a long shot here is pros cons list thingy
PROS-probably lots more people online-the graphics-blue ray-the internet-its and probalby some more im forgeting for now o well who cares oh its doesn't take memory cards
CONS-isdts expensive-its more complicated-sometimes u have to wati for long dowloads-its heavyer-les prtable than PS2-
i dont watn ot make a list for Ps2 because i hate it its not better at all so im not gonna PS3 totally PWNS it in wvery way possible that i care about so whatever u think guys not my problem
