First, a bit of back story before I post the rules of joining and playing, just to give you an idea of the story that will be.
A tall, dark tower loomed over the barren planes surrounding it. At the top stood a tall man dressed in a dark cloak, blowing in the breeze behind him. He silently cursed to himself, because although the surrounding plain was without any life at all, he knew that beyond the tall mountains surrounding the castle, the plains were alive with grass and wildlife. "No matter." he thought to himself. "It will all be dead soon. All in good time." He stepped off the edge and returned to the center of the roof, where a small pedestal held a small half circle. He pressed a hidden button, and the half-circle slid open, revealing what he intended to hide until the time was right. Five small polyhedral shapes rested in their own place, none of them touching the others. The man himself had another one in his pocket, he would never let it go. The power felt too nice to him. The man laughed to himself, he knew that soon he would rule all of Helmgard with the power of the shapes. Suddenly, behind him, a hidden door leading back into the tower burst open. A knight, dressed in chain mail armor emerged. "Your through Granwalt! Your evil terror ends now!" he spoke in a raised voice, nearly screaming. "How exactly do you plan on stopping me, Sothe? I hold all the chips, and you hold none!" "Preposterous! Just because you have the dice of power does not mean you cannot be beaten!" "Even without the dice I could defeat you, Sothe, and I intend to prove it!" With that the man in the cloak, apparently named Granwalt, pulled a book out from behind him. The brave knight Sothe charged forward, his two-handed sword raised high above his head. Bravery in his mind, he let out a shrill cry. Granwalt quickly opened his book, moved his fingers in a strange pattern, and then cried out; "Raldi!" A beam of pure energy emerged from his free hand, and struck the knight square in the chest. The knight fell to the ground, sword still in his hand. Granwalt tucked the book away back into his cloak, and walked toward the dark knight."Ha! Wheres your bravery now, Sothe?" Sothe clutched the sword in his hand, moved it back, and then threw it forward, aimed straight at Granwalt. "Right here!' he cried. The dark wizard simply moved to the side. "Ha! You missed. Your still a worthless knight, no matter how brave you may be." "I wasn't... aiming at you... Granwalt!" he said, dying. The sword lurched past the wizard, and straight into the pedestal. "No!" cried the wizard. The polyhedral shapes sprang up from the pedestal, and each flew off in five separate directions. "You see, Granwalt. Even when I'm dying... I still...Fight for whats right... That's, what it means... To be a true knight..." Then the knight's body convulsed, and he died. Granwalt walked back to the pedestal, cursing to himself. "Knew I shouldn't have cast 'defy gravity' on those dice... No matter. I still have one with me. And it's the most powerful of all. All that annoying knight did was prolong the unevadable. Helmgard, would soon be his...
Okay, quick review about how to find your Combat Score 1. Roll your strength dice (Or when throwing or using ranged, your agility dice.) 2. Roll 1 six sided die 3. Add your weapons bonus 4. Add together 5. That's your score.
Try to find what you forgot to do Octobo kid, sounds to me like you missed one of those.
Yes, that's right. 11. (Sorry that took longer than expected, but atleast we cleared up how to attack and the like. )
Seeing the thief bringing the sword into the air, S.K. quickly drew a Shurikens out and hurled it at the thief(CS:11). "Wait, what the?" his shot took the man by surprise. The surprise of the attack forces him to dodge the attack(CS:6) instead of counter attack (Even though he could have easily done that.). The shuriken cuts across his free arm(Doing 2 Damage to him), and lands stuck in a table far on the other side of the room.
Xenocrates looks at the thief in front of him, smirks, and then fires straight at the brute(CS:12). Seeing the attack coming, the thief attempts to strike the Marksman before he has a chance to fire(CS:11). Unfortunently he is not quick enough, and the bolt gets stuck in his stomach(Doing 3 Damage). He seems to be able to suck it up though as he mutters "You'll pay for that one."
The thief mutters in pain as the bolt hits him in the stomach. Normally a shot like that would kill a man, he knew. Luckily for him the bolt was not only weak, but fired from a particularly bad crafted crossbow. Still, he wanted to take no chances. He raised his sword and slashed (CS:??)as his advisory attempted to reload.

Straight Jaket Man, make your Combat Skill Roll in order to try to counter attack. Octobo, you can say what you will be doing once your turn comes around. I already know what you are doing Kyle, so no need to post an action.
Lol... I got 14 for the Combat Skill roll this time. I think I got the hang of this now...It's all coming together rather nicely...
...at least, I think I have it down.
Perhaps it would be easier if you have 1 page on here (or on our profiles) with all the info...Y'know, to kinda keep everything together... Or I could just cut-paste it all on a Word file or something...
Xenocrates sees the first thief attempt to hit him, so in one swift motion, he turns his crossbow onto it's side, pushes and pushes towards(CS:14) the thief's swing(CS:15). Although he manages to parry the first blow, the thief uses that momentum to charge forth a second blow, one that Xenocrates cannot parry. The sword cuts Xenocrates thigh, a rather non fatal blow (Doing 3 damage.). "I tried to warn you that you were in over your head boy!"
Kyle the warrior saw the second thief draw his weapon, and so he drew his own. He was quick enough that he would throw the first strike(CS:13). The thief is taken by surprise, but tries his best to parry (CS:11). His arm is quickly thrown down when Kyle swipes downwards, and the edge of his blade manages to catch his leg (Doing 3 damage.). "You'll pay for that one!" the thief says clutching his leg with his free hand. He returned to his original position and attempted to strike Kyle with his sword (CS:??)
ROUND-1 Thief B [7] S.K. [8] HP:10/10 Thief C [9] Xenocrates [10] HP:14/17 Thief Leader [12] Thief A [13] Kyle [14] HP:16/16
Stonester has joined the death line!
MUST READ! Quick rules update for clarification on how I handle inactive players. Anytime you are prompted to do something (Whether it's taking your turn, your being attacked, or you level or the like.)you have 24 hours to respond. If you fail to do so, you skip your action, and take the consequences that come with it. After that, you have a further 24 hours to either post a forum post here or a comment in my profile to tell me that you are still in. If you fail to do that, you will be removed from Dice Quest.
ok. Can I post my next attack now, or should I wait? Ah, I'll do it anyways.
I roll a 15 for my next combat roll. I attack Thief B (seeing as how he's the weakest.)
Also, one thing. Is the number of Brackets the number of Ticks each character is at? Funny, I thought that was the HP of the enemy...say, How do we know what the HP for the enemies is? Or DO we?
The number in brackets is what tick each combatant is at. You know your hp and your friends hp, but you do NOT know your enemies HP. Only various Perks (The one that comes to mind is SCAN and SPOT) which nearly every class of character has somewhere in there skill tree (But I'll get to that the first time you guys level up. So don't worry about it for now.) Also I have noted that you are attacking Thief B, but remember he's near Kyle, not the one by you.
One last thing, talking is ALWAYS a free action, and it doesn't have to be your turn to do it. So feel free to taunt and say snappy comebacks as much as you see fit.
