I watched this for the first time last night. I'm not a big superman fan (I'm not a superhero fan at all so i'm not just holding a grudge against Mr Kent!! In fact, i've never seen a full Superman film.) The film was on TV last night, which is why I watched it, and I have to say I felt a big disappointment on behalf of the actual fans.
He has a child!!!!???!!! Is this a franchise-making scheme??? I have to say I felt the same as I did after watching Spiderman 2 (which I hated!) after his identity was revealed...
I'm not a comic book fan, and by no means do i understand the whole '30 yrd old man having a childhood link to comics' but i do get that there are certain 'rules' which are meant to be followed.
For the same reason i felt the disapppointement of the unmasking of Spiderman (Spiderman 2, his mask is pulled off in a subway train full of people, who he then trusts not to tell his secret!!), i felt so sad that there was suddenly a 'mini' Superman.
So, my point...sorry for this mega long intro lol..is, how do you all feel about the plot of Superman Returns?
