The word itself literally means study of the mind.

Ya my point :P also isn't it more the study of how we react in certian situations more than, the frontal cortex does this, and the left lobe mainly does this?

My job is Psychological Warfar, yet we don't really get all that involved into the Psy part.

RE Ya my point

When we go beyond the defintion I have already given it gets a great deal more complicated very quickly. That's why I have used the standard definition.

Psychology actually involves a great deal of things. Our minds obviously control a great deal of our everyday lives and beyond. It involves understanding our behaviour, thoughts, emotions, development. So on and so forth.

In what context? Could you expand.

I work for the US Government. My job is Psychological Warfare. I was recently in Afghanistan. I can't get into specifics as it's unconventional warfare.

Really i did the equivalent of an AS level in psychology. How advanced are you? University level, A2 level?

I found the most interesting bit early child development, daycare, and the theories around it continuity etc.

I was told it is the study of the mind.

RE I work for the US Government

That sounds quite intense. TBH I would like to work in related fields though not "warfare" in the global context at first. Interesting.

I don't understand how you could use or identify &quotsycholigical warfare" without the "Psy" part. Psy is the Greek for mind if I'm right - and I am. So either that's a spelling error or you're simply doing the study of warfare.

RE Really I did the equivalent"

I'm in second year university in Scotland which would make me half way to an honors degree and a third way to a Dr of Psychology.

Essentially what is important is that I'm 10 times more capable of manipulation than an advanced 28 year old female lawyer (ouch); I know how you're thinking and why before you do if we're in the same room together long enough and most importantly this iss before I started psych at uni level = ) Scary huh? Soon I can do it professionally.

All in all I'm pretty good to answer your question.

Top of my year and better than 97% of those before me overall. That's in the history of my uni ; )
