Chat is better because emails take to long to me.

Either would be a nice addition to AG, and both have their advantages, but given a choice between them, I would choose chat.

ya ik what ur talking about...i called my girl friend yesterday and there was so many embarassing pauses that it was about a 45sec call and there was only about 5secs of talking...ik embarassin

Chat is efficient because it allows for faster talking over a small period of time. But that can only happen if both people are online at the same time, whereas for e-mail, you can send them one and they are able to respond in their own time.
