I got some Silly Putty stuck on my mouse wheel, and I don't want to scrape very hard or else the wheel might get broken or scraped, and I don't know how else to get it off. I really need some help. So, please tell me the best electronic friendly way to get some Silly Putty off of an object that feels like some hardened gel. (not extremely high-priority, because I use a laptop.
Never mind, I got most of it off it with gentle scraping, the amount left is just the normal amount of smear it has on it from eating stuff whilst playing games. Still, if you know a way to get all of it off that would help.
Take the wheel out then do it?
I don't know how to do that without breaking my mouse; it is a high-quality gaming mouse that you can't just pop the wheel out and then put it back in later.
The fork by itself worked fine, so thanks for that. And it also was never really enough to have to start "digging" it out, just some splotches. I guess now I know better than to use silly putty around electronics!
