Okay, I'm here to talk about the Mona Lisa. You must have been living under a rock if you don't know what the Mona Lisa is, Leonardo DaVinci's "masterpiece", the world most well known picture. But what do you think? It's truly a very beautiful picture, but does it deserve all the praise? Personally i think DaVinci did many better pictures, like The Last Dinner (the "Davinci Code" Picture) is much prettier, and a lot of his other pictures. But many say that her smile is mysterious and other things like that. What do you think?
I also have another question, you must have heard about the oh-so-famous "DaVinci Code"... the controversial bestseller book/film that made many people doubt about God and their religion. What do you think about the book/film? Do you think it's true, what they say (personally i think most of it is bull, but there are a couple of things that could be true). And did you know that the DaVinci Code author actually copied from another writers that had made a book about the info, but he made it to a novel without giving them credit?
Okay, read the book, saw the movie. Read some of the other stuff about it, concluded most of it is as fictional as the novel itself. Hmm, about that with the credit, it is rather hard to give credit for a bunch of stuff, you could have found on the internet as well. Most of it is probably not true anyway. I know there was a case, with them people who wrote the "Holy grail, holy something", because he refered to the book, but I think they should have been happy, as the sale rose afterwards. Really, a bestseller like that, why be angry...
Hmm, I never liked Mona Lisa, probably because it is odd froman artistic point of view. I like some of his inventions better, also his anatomical stuff too.
Yeah. But many people call the DaVinci code stupid and all, but aside the stupid elias(whatevr he was called) stuff, it was pretty interesting. And i really like the actress 8) (Amelie~).
Yeah, the Mona Lisa is about as boring as the Scream. But I like the Mona Lisa better. But Scream is actually quite... deep.
/shotbynorwegians. I'm a shame to my country. Also, where are you from?
Yeah. really, people should try and enjoy the story, instead of thinking about all the information in the background.. But I am more a book person, I guess.
Scream? Never saw it~
Denmark. I think we ended up talking about nisser in one of your threads.
It's an opinion. No one ever forced you to believe that Mona Lisa is better than The Last Dinner. Also, Mona Lisa and The Last Dinner are 2 different categories. Mona Lisa is a portrait of a quite possibly once real woman. Also, Mona Lisa is probably deemed more important rather than "retty". It was sold to the King of France for 4,000 gold crowns. It has speculation that it might be a portrait of Da Vinci, and that she is a he. Her eyes following you and her strange smile may also add to the rage about Mona Lisa as opposed to The Last Supper.
I believe that the author mentioned that the story is fiction but certain info were based on factual information. Like Mary Magdalene was not a prostitute but rather comes from genealogical lines of Kings. But still I like the fact that the book make its reader think and reevaluate their notions and beliefs.
First of all, Angels and Demons was much better than the Da Vinci Code. Second of all, I found that it was the biggest bunch of gnostic crap I've read in a long time.
@ The_Masquerade: I never said that, it was an opinion. And yes, she is quite mysterious, it makes her quite interesting, but when we talk about art, i like other pieces by DaVinci better. Most of it is probably bull, but it's still interesting, and plays with your feelings. Not only if you are a christian, but it goes further.
He has indeed made better inventions then paintings and I don't really like paintings ^^. I have read the book and I have seen the film, they were both good but there is nothing more to it.
