With a 24-38 win over Penn State on Jan. 1, USC has become the first team in history to wi8n 3 straight Rose Bowls!!!

This now begs the question:
Should NCAA football begin a tournament, a la men's Basketball?

Some are now speculating that if a tournament was in place this year, USC would be a top contender for the national title.

I have a idea here. I think after all the Bowl Games, the top 4 ranked teams should have a tornument. The 2 winners should play for the Championship.

have a tournament between the winners of all the bowl games, but drop a lot of bowl games. theres 34 now, make it like 24, so 12 go to playoffs. then have playoffs like the superbowl

There will never be a playoff. Too much money is at stake. But I think it should be set up like European soccer. Relegate the worst teams out of their conferences and bring in new teams. Why does a Washington team that went 0-12 get to stay in the Pac-10 for a possible BCS title next year, while 13-0 Utah has to stay in a crappy conference forever and never have a chance at the title? Why does Boise St. (60-4 in the past 4 years) not get a chance at the title? They have proven themselves worthy. Put them in a big conference for the chance at a national championship!

Well, the BCS has always been a "big school" organization. They will put "big schools" into the "big bowls" in order to get higher ratings, while truly great teams like Fresno State, Utah, and Boise State aren't even given a second glance.

I think that the BCS should be abolished in favor of a full on tournament. Top 2 teams in each division play for the division title, then go into a standard tournament, single game elimination, with seeding determined by win percentage.
