I'm in for the CPAG Anyway, it's interesting the reasons given by capitalist why communism failed.
What I read so far:
a) It's been ditched, Russia got rid of it, it must not work. b) Most will follow Stalinism rather than Marxism (or the more infamous but less mentioned Maoism). c) Good idea in theory, but fails due to human nature.
Like some of you, I use to believe that communism is the idea structure for the ideal world; i.e. it's discrepancies are therefore due to human imperfection (which makes it 'fail'; pragmatism). Which makes Capitalism seem perfect; each entity being profit motivated etc, letting the invisible hand iron out the wrinkles.
But that was when I was young and foolish. Now, when I am taller and better looking, I agree with Sik's camp: you need the market; supply and demand addresses the basic economic problem much more than foolish GI-pricing or the better alternative market socialism (which is something like what the PRC is running.)
So, rather than the extreme, why not socialism? Strong and clean governments, tending towards command economy, result in Singapore-like countries, which is much better than it's antagonistic partner, the capitalist Hong Kong.
But fancy theories only hold water in classrooms. For now, we kill bourgeoisie and divide the loot.
Every one who is not a full blown capitalist is welcome. Why can't you have socialism in a Communist group? I'll add you to the list located on my profile comrade!
