I realised a long time ago that governments are only in it for the paycheck we take our time voting them in because of their policies and they give nothing back. Take Gordon Brown he is in power and has the chance to turn the economic crisis around for the people of the UK but he sits there in his big cars, whilst us Britons sit here with no money and needing help. Why tell us they can change things when they can't, I don't know if every government is as bad as this but if they are why do this to the countries they are supposed to be helping? Why go to wars the country people don't want? Why use our money to bail us out of a crisis which they got us into?
If anyone knows the answers to these questions maybe you could help me out.

Firstly the Public Accounts Commission makes sure the government doesn't just spend tax payers money on themselves. Secondly it's not like they dont have anything at stake either, if they don't get voted in, they lose their salary as MP's so they can't just make laws regardless of the people. Thirdly Gordon Brown and the Labour Party have done a reasonably good job of trying to soften the blow from the economic crisis, we(UK) have probably done the most of all the european nations in response to the economiuc crisis, if not the most out of all the nations in the world. Fourthly there is only so much one gobvernment can do to stem the crisis that did stem from America. The British government had nothing to do with it. Where are you getting the idea that the labour party's slogan was change? (Would we be better off with the Tories in charge, the thought of Osborne running the economy fills me with dread.)

You can't blame Gordon Brown for it. Especially after he did so well as the Chancellor of the Exchequer which saw the UK have the longest period of sustained growth ( though this is being challenged). I think woody covered just about everything. Problems arise in democracies and any leadership when the people loose confidence. And under the circumstances of the crises, the wars in iraq/afghanistan as well as not being voted in in the first place Gordon has done ok top keep his head above the water.

I think the recession has been good for Brown's popularity. Before that if he called an election i think the tories would have won. Now though people like the image of a grizzled economic veteran over the image of the young hip (but untested) cameron.

i think its the classic thing of a government being in power for too long. They get arrogant and stale and the people want a change.

Actaully it's pretty secure if you want my opinion. Other than that I would blame McCarthyism and corrupt capitalists who claim to be for the people just so they can increase their own wealth.

But they can of course act towards what would give them, and their corporatist friends money.

What is pretty secure? Trust me you are wrong. You are talking from an American perspective. Labour are the Robin Hood party, they were originally a socialist party. Its not like in America, the only thing like that was the cash for honours scandal but I wont go into that.

YES I HOPE ITS OVER NOW THAT HES GONE

So do I, but sadly it wasnt caused by Bush or any other government for that matter. If it was, it would be far easier to fix.
