the best TV chef and one of the best swearers on telly. I always watch his shows and think he combines actual cooking knowlege with entertainment really well.
I think hes definitely a character, but he's just not for me. He's got that angry Scot thing down to a tee though. Personally I cant understand why he's so successful. All he does is swear at people and occassionally say 'sausage.pan.done.'
woody: I think that's only his TV image. My gut says editors ('specially here in the States) love to play up that "angry Scot" aspect. Also, his success comes from a combination of his culinary talent, knowledge, and skill with excellent business acumen.
imthebest: If my memory serves, the foul mouth came about from being taught in a similar fashion.
I guess anyone will act different in front of a cam, but personally the whole 'bad boy' thing is kind of sad. He acts like a hard man when he earns a 6 figure salary.wtf?
Woody I always laugh at the lame directions of chop, boil, mix, DONE. its the dumbest thing ever.
I work in a kitchen, and the chefs I work with love the show. Every time someone messes something up, even a simple thing, they go out and shout "IT'S A NIGHTMARE!" in a British accent.
