If you're having trouble with level 7, I recommend upgrading mana to 5000+, then fill your mana pool, then send paladins until you have no mana left. If you still wind up being repelled by Elf Protectors, use the mana you've gotten since you stopped making paladins to make a new army of paladins. You should be able to win off of your 1st army, but if not... your 2nd army will.
You can get paladins by researching the middle column at least 2 times. doing so 3 or 4 times will make your paladins stronger after upgrading in the level.
