I recently purchased a DVD copy of the Sims 2 at a computer store in...Melbourne *gasp*. Anyway, I installed it with no issues but then when I tried to run it it came up with a message saying that there was a known compatibility error with Windows Vista.
This dialogue box and many other tech-support forums told me to download a patch off of the official Sims 2 website. So I did...and during the installation of this it came up with an error saying 'Error During Update Installation.'
So I can't run Sims 2 and it is really, really annoying me. If I have to I will play it on my old XP computer that isn't very good, but I don't really want to.
Has anyone encountered this problem before or does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
It probably isn't the best place to ask for help...I should probably post my question on a tech support forum, but I can't be bothered making an account. Oh well...
