So, I just saw the trailer for the Angels & Demons movie (from the writer of The DaVinci Code), and they talk about this organization called the Illuminati. I did a little research and found out that they were some organization that saw themselves as smarter than others, and that they wanted to make a New World Order. But I didn't understand much more, so maybe someone who knows more, or has read the book can tell me more about it? And what do you think?
There are always people that believe themselves superiour to those around them and try to control them. The Illuminati are just another group of power hungry individuals that game designers and fiction writer's got their hands on and started to put into everything. Anyway, I'd be more worried about certain groups trying to "help" (environmentalists, safety nazis) then any organization such as this. Still, an interesting talking point I guess.

True... groups like these are often much more interesting than the ones you say are trying to help. Power corrupts, but power also attracts. There's something extremely interesting about groups wanting to create a new world order.
Hmm, this seem familiar... Anyway: The Illuminati was, yes, scientist, in a world filled with superstition and run by religion. The "New world Order" was pretty much just trying to get people to realize the "truth"/science. Some might say they succeded seeing the society we live in now, other might say they succeded for a while, but as it is now, much information is hid under piled of misunderstood facts and regular people's oppinion. They were active before and under the Age of Enlightenment, which might have been their goal in the first place. We might need a new Illuminati in these days, as the society seem to become more stupid and less literate, probably because of the internet and its different search mechanisms, people use with little to no critique. /Information Science Rant.
well i think illimunati worship Horace the Antichrist and well on the back of the one dollar bill guess what???? Horace's all seeing eye is on a pyramid if u look. the ancient Egyptians worshipped him and thats why the pyramids where built with that gold on the top... this leads to the Koran and the bible which mention the Antichrist which proves tht the two religions r legit, anyway back on topic they want on world hidden under this unity is their lust for power to make way for Horace and ultimately quell Isa or jesuses efforts to stop him.

The Illuminati now are just fictional characters. Their time has past, as there goal to make people realize the "truth" has pretty munch been achieved, (but not by some)
They did exist but there time has come. All that exists are corrupt governments and regimes. Though there are things on everyday that we the people do not know about that is if we knew there would be unwanted mass panic constantly.

This has happened for years. "Myth" says the illumnati made up the organisation of the popes army etc. It's hard to believe the true and false in this organization, but it's a dangerous one.
