I was reading a <cough> Jeremy Clarkson book and he was discussing how much better old music is to this new stuff. He came up with some statistics which I have forgotten put uncovered again. These are the tallies for the CoD's of Rock Stars. 42 heart attacks 40 OD's 36 suicides 35 vehicular crashes 25 cancer 22 Aircraft crashes 21 mysteries 18 murdered 9 alcohol 5 drowned The list continues, the death rate for rock stars, especially in the 1960's was freakishly high. Again the so called "27 club" mafe up of rock artists who died aged 27 includes: Jimi Hendrix, Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain. What is it about the psche of a musician that makes them so self distructive and is it this quality that fuelled the creative boom of the genre.
Like AC/DC's original singer Bon Scot who sung "It's A Long Way To The Top", he didn't die of an OD and alcohol was only ruled as a theory. Many people believe that he died of an asmatic reaction to the cold air. I really don't understand a musician's recklessness toward himself and perhaps I never will..
