It really depends with me. I sometimes like shooters more like SOCOM or Band of Brothers, but I also like adventure games. I really like a good story line and good characters in a game, not just mindless violence. I've started writing a game that could be a kind of hybrid of the two types, sort of a mythilogical/Napolionic war timeperiod, but that's gonna take time. I think mindless violence, more like your shooter, can really draw someone in, but a strong story and good characters, more like your adventure game, can hold their attention for long periods of time.
