I worked on it for about 3-4 hours and I thought it was one of the best designs/art I had done until then. Then I added an effect and PAH. It got stuck. And died. And I didn't save. I'm stupid.
Cheer me up, and tell me about your great work losses.
I once spent over 24 hours on a game, half of which was spent power-leveling, and I overwrote the save file with an old, level 2 one. It takes forever to level in the game as well, and I was close to the end.
I also have lost a really long assignment I did for school, I was about to do it over again when my teacher found it in her photocopier. That was a close one.
Ah - that reminds me of when my brother deleted my latest save in Kingdom Heart, where I was in the middle of a boss and had just leveled up about 7 levels...
I spent days working on a Warcraft III custom scenario game in 3-D, and after all that hard work, the power went out. It just makes you want to stare at the screen for about 20 seconds and then slowly lapse in a dark, brooding depression, followed by heavy breathing and crying.
I agree with that statement. It is like "wha..." "NO!NO!NO!NO!" /facepalm. /headdesk. Then the sobbing kicks in. Yeah, I have lost plenty of stuff, but nothing as epic as that game. It was my favorite game for a while too, but now I hate it. Did you play Warcraft III again that month? I'm gonna guess no, except for trying to get the map back.
I turned off autosave, beat the whole game without saving, went to eat dinner, came back, saw a ad on the bottom bar. (where the windows are) I tried to delete it with right click but I accidentally closed my Sonny 2 window. There goes 3 hours of hard work...
Yeah >: It was a shirt design, I was really proud of how it was coming out, and now I don't even want to look at flash.
For about a month.
And the worst part is that I could see the image, cause when it died it was in the background, (the screen get's white in Vista), and it had a bunch of lines over it... and it was like... seeing it die ; ;.
I was playing Bioshock and I passed all the chambers were you respawn at. I did the "What's This" on them, and it told me that if I would start from this point automatically as I pass them. I thought, "Oh good, Save points". So I made sure I walked up to each one. I then accidentally picked the wrong option after a battle about 8 hours into the game. So I hit the restart. Apparently you have to manually save, and the tanks were only if you died. So I had to replay the game all over.
I beat No More Heroes on Hard mode (forgot what it was called in game, Beat all of RE4 Wii Edtion, Beat all of that horrible Bleach game for the Wii. And beat SSBB a 100% on Spaceship with like 80 % of the trophies, and so I turn on my wii hoping to finish the other 20% of trophies and BAM Everything was erased on my wii for all my games. I haven't played my wii in a while since then :/
Ohhh, yes... When I was using a stationary PC I had a few cases of being in the middle of/almost done with a digital drawing, then my mom walks in and trips over the power cable so it comes out. ..... Yes.
I've also had both GIMP and Photoshop crash on me, usually only when I forget to save. It sucks.
One time I was playing pokemon. So I caught rayquaza, kyogre and groundoun. The only thing I forgot to do was saving the game. So my gameboy got jammed and turned of.
When I started playing again no rayquaza no kyogre and no groundon.
I was 10 years old when that happened. I don't play pokemon anymore.
Anyway, I have a bunch of stories, all ending with me screaming and wanting to kill my computer oh so badly. Latest one was this:
I was almost finished (I was working on some king of background), when it crashed on me, and every time I tried to take a proper screenie, it went white on me, so not I have this faded, too small picture....
Sadly I could not even edit it... I really hated my laptop, and especially photoshop there... There are still errors, but I have to start over again, if I want it to be any better...
