I like both for different reasons. I play Sins of a Solar Empire as one of the best RTS, and I like Turn based like Valkaria, Disgaea, Shining Force.

Hey! you're forgetting Fire Emblem! it is, in my opinion the best tbs game series. ever. It is way more popular in Japan (mainly because the first half of the series is only available over there). I got the game and every firend that I lent it to has liked it.

but, on to the question: rts or tbs? I actually prefer either rts's that you can pause and issue orders(basically all in existance) or just tbs's.

Was the "duh" just you druling on yourself from being stupid? or do you really think that TBGs are never as great as RTSs

Turn based strategies have flaws such as one side always going first, which makes them so their perfect balance is actually giving one side an advantage.


I prefer real time.


Besides, in video games, is there actually a good turn based strategy anyway? ...I think not

Ya like llama said, Fire Emblem is probably the greatest turn based game there is. Sure there's the flaw that one side always goes first, but all games have some kind of flaw if you think about it hard enough. At least that's my opinion so I prefer turn based games.

Hm... Tough choice. Personally, I prefer (The Air!) Turn based Strategy games, such as Fire Emblem. But, there are some great rts games out there. My personal favorite is Plastic Army Men RTS. It's fun as well.

Real time strategy is best, turn based is just booooooooooring.

Turn based gives you more time to think about your strategy, but real time is the best. It tests your skills better.

I think RTS if it would mean both of you were moving at the same time. I would personally like the TBS of Final Fantasy so in TBS this is the perfect choice.
