I've recently been shocked by the discovery of a new pseudo-science in the domain of religion. It's called ''Religiology''. I simply can't bear to see university teachers come up with such stupid things.I've read some articles on religiology only to find out how ridiculous it was.Basically it's a thesis that say we can understand anyday actions from a religious perspective, and that every action has an unconscious religious meaning. So...I can attach a religious meaning to my corn pops in the morning only to understand better why I'm how I am and these corn pops are so important to me in a religious way. Please tell me what you think of this nonsense if you read some texts about it... Upcoming?:Godology???....euf....(sigh)
Theology, yeah, that's legit. Religiology?? That doesn't even sound like a real word. >_> And from what you've written the "logy" of it sounds absolutely ridiculous to me...
Well, I've heard of basic metaethics that are somewhat like this. Basically, that every human motion and action has some sort of beneficial purpose behind it.
Why do you eat? Food lets you live.
Why do you learn? It helps you advance in society.
Why do you act nicely to others? It improves your standing with them.
Totally Zophia,it's not even a word and even if it comes to be it makes no sense at all since ''religion'' and ''logos'' are not even from the same language roots. On the spot I thought about theology at first too but it's not the same it's really even more ridiculous because it include psychological elements justified by unconscious religious themes. It's as if I was saying : We're all doing the things we do because of communism, the thing is;we don't know it...Ridiculous!!
We're all doing the things we do because of communism, the thing is;we don't know it...Ridiculous!!
Communism and religion are completely different.
But, on a basic level, it seems similar to the people that claim God is responsible for absolutely everything. I'm pretty sure he's not going to spend his time watching you play Texas hold 'em to make sure you lose.
Ok, This sounds completely ridiculous to me! Although, I've experienced things like this before. For example, It takes a flower for a kid to see some of the lesser things he should be thankful for. But still, giving things like this a name? Come on!
As for that comment that keeps getting quoted, UHH WHAT? FallenSky, can you please explain what you meant?
