Thinking about the new movie push, one begins to wish that we could have some ability far beyond common human talents. I am just curious about what people here wish they could do. I am not looking for someone to say "Omnipotency" or "Omniscience" as that is more along the lines of wishing to be God. I am just talking about, well.. Just read my opinion...
Telekinesis I'd take macro telekinesis... There is something about being able throw a car with one's mind and gravity disruptions that seems oh so fun. Who cares about bending a spoon when you can make yourself fly by neutralizing gravity around yourself... Of course, there is no known process that can disrupt gravity aside from the placement of matter.
Where there is nothing, there is still "dark energy" which has a negative gravitational pull. This has come along with the concept of dark matter, which can pass through objects, has no light and yet has gravity. Theoretically, if one could manipulate the location of dark matter, they could manipulate gravity, but that is something we cannot yet do.
Electromagnetism could theoretically cause the same result... The brain is a mass of wires, and as every engineer knows, electrified wires emit magnetic fields. It has been found that all materials, even pure carbon (graphite) resists magnetic fields. If you get a big enough magnet, you can make a frog float, but the thing that can do that, is also four or five stories tall. Imagine a microscopic scaled far denser version. This is somewhat like the brain. Now of course, one could hypothetically time neuron firing times, creating a huge magnetic pulse that would be something of an EMP, but the process would kill the person...
Now, I don't believe that telekinesis exists, I just think it would be cool if it did. So I guess, I ask what would you like to have, and if you did, what physical basis would it have. What law of science would it be based upon? What about miraculous?
"The universe is a wondrous place, much like a computer program. We could be considered mere pieces of code in a larger scheme. We only see the laws that govern us, but what of the far grander laws of physics and quantum physics that hold the universe together. Could we manipulate them? Or will the universe always be the ultimate random number generator?" Unkown Author 2009
Isn't this along the lines of "What superpower do you want?"
In my opinion I would love to feel the sensation of flying. Not something that would be too useful or give me riches later in life, but simply for leisure and personal pleasure.
i would definitely have the power to disappear. that would be the greatest thing ever for me at least. mostly because what i do is kind of dangerous, so it would help me avoid trouble. probably keep me alive for a lot longer. from darck
