GOD put 2 eggs in a basket then there was a 2 chickens laying eggs

its very simple... the egg... the first egg is about 135 million years ago, but the first chicken is 54 million years... so simple

Considering my user name, I should be the expert on this matter, the egg came first, since it didn't have to be a chicken egg, however if we are talking about chickens and chicken eggs... I have no clue
