Does anybody else agree that groundhogs day is stupid? I mean, not like a groundhogs shadow can actually predict the weather. Don't we have fancy machinery and meteorologists to do that?
Also, can anybody explain to me how and when this tradition started? I'm just curious about that.
Well, it was something about that before meteorological instruments were invented, people used to watch if the groundhog came out from hibernation, then got scared and ran back in, and it would hibernate for six more weeks, meaning a later spring.
Oh I love Groundhog's Day, so many fond memories from way back when ^^
But now I don't really care, it's just another holiday that doesn't give me a day off from school =/
I guess, from Agent's explanation, that's how it started although I thought it had to do with the shadow too somehow but I learned this in Elementary School and it's not exactly the holiday pick in High School >_>
