I see that many people post a simple comments like " good game!", "awesome" , "cool" even I write something close to it sometimes and I think it is a wrong thing to do. Also I think that the teams and people who created those games would like to hear full comments instead of just few sentences and I suggest that there could be a new comment rule that needs at least 50characters in a comment. What do you think readers? Good or bad idea?
i think that a comment should be atleast 4 words long cause sometimes all you got for a gme is 4 words. Sorry about the post above i was trying to make a link lol my bad
Your comment should be long enough to put all the thoughts that you'd like to say about a game, into it. I very much dislike spammers who put "3/10" or "great", they need to elaborate off of that, and not just leave it like that.
[url=http://armorgames.com/community/thread/2778805/everybodys-talking-bout-spaming-and-spammers-locking-and-mocking-modding-and-modeling]This thread here gives the perfect definition on what spam really is[url].
It doesn't have to be short to be considered spam, it doesn't have to be long to be considered a good comment, just as long as you get.your.point/opinion.across. Want some examples? Off-topic posts, lazy posts, meaning you are very much capable of posting something constructive, yet you post something very dull and weak, for the purpose of getting 1 AP. Then there is the solicitor post, which means users who post "Hey, what's up" comments on your About Page, when you clearly don't know them at all.
What should you do when you see spam, like the examples I've shown you above? Flag. It's there, waiting for you to use it, so don't waste the 20 minutes of scripting for it. Probably 80% of users here don't use the flag button, or know that it's there.
A perfect example here is Russianfreak's first post in this thread. How would you consider this post? Off-topic? Maybe so, but maybe he was also referring to another user that has to do with this thread? Maybe this user has spammed in the past? Who knows, but even if he confessed that he was making a link, Russianfreak, no offense, but you should've reported that user to a mod =)
Next time you see a comment that's short, remind yourself if that post is constructive, off-topic or lazy. You may have reported a user for a misunderstanding.
Furthermore, the posts posted since it was necro'd did not add anything to the thread, so... I'm not the one who necro'd it, even though it'll look like I was in a bit. >_>
