I often find that when I rate a game, I know that I have either over or under rated it. This is frustrating because no matter how much I try, I cannot change my rating. This doesn't mean that you can rate more than once, it means that you can 'change' your rating.

I'm sure this would be a welcome addition to Armor Games.

I am always happy to hear of being able to change my rating. For example my account on IMDB, sometimes I skim over my movies and see I rated something really low or high. And over a period of time I have learned to appreciate or hate said movie, so I change the rating. No so much for AG.

Then it's pretty obvious you rated the game to soon. You should wait with rating the game untill you really know what you think of the game.

This isn't a movie where you watch only a couple a week if that, flash games usually you play a bunch, you don't remember each one individually for an extended period of time, it becomes tedious and usually you rate right away.

Maybe you shoudl wait a bit longer before you rate, I did the same and the problem was kind of over for me.

This function is on Kongregate. I think it's a great one. You see, you play a game one day, and you like it, so you rate it high. But the next day when you continue the game it suddenly gets really bad. Not much effort in story, errors, bugs etc... So you want to rate it slightly lower. I do it on Kongregate a lot.

Problem: Some people watch two movies every day or daily, but I get your point. Flash games are easily forgotten unless you like them a lot, in which case you come and play them again. It's basically a human habit.

I would be all up for changing your rating, so long as there would be no extra AP gain for it. Again, you should play the game thoroughly before rating it, one, so you can confidently say why you gave it that rating, and two, so you guys don't get plagued by that glitch that makes you play before you rate.

I like this idea, but someone might go back and give every game a low rating just for fun. So, I say no to this idea.

Oh, that's just such a poor reason... like the editing idea where someone will spam and edit to hide the evidence. Rubbish! =( There can't be a bad reason for every idea.... can it?

For the editing, well, take a screenie, show it it to a mod, there, proof.
For the rating, who would be weird enough to give all the games a bad rating, and why does it matter, if a couple of people do so? All the spammers are just giving the game an average rating anyway.

Dude this idea is perfect seriously i rated the game FR2 a .5/10 the first time i played it cause i found it dumb but over time (like 3 months) i tryed the game again and i loved it and wanted to rate it a 10/10 but it waas a .5/10 already so simply i hope the mods take this idea into action.

I'm glad that people like this idea.

Somebody mentioned being able to edit your comments. I think this is a great idea too. If AG were to use these ideas, I'm sure they would have a comment history tool which shows previous versions of comments like they have on wikis.

Please post and support this idea if you would like it on AG. To make it work is really quite simple. I owned a couple of websites a while ago and I had to make it so that people could re-rate their rating. They wouldn't get any extra points and the rating wouldn't be counted twice.

Matthewest just said everything that I was supposed to say.
I completely agree with him and I'd love to see these features implemented.

This proves my theory that people start to like a game or hate it overtime. It happens to just about everyone.

As long as you don't get extra points for re-rating

They don't do that on Kongregate: You can re-rate a game a hundred times, but you still only get the points once.

Somebody mentioned being able to edit your comments

The problem with this is that people would abuse that right: They would write a really nasty comment to someone, who reads it and then reports it. But before a moderator checks, they flamer has changed the comment to a nice one. It happens, trust me.

i definitely support this idea, i generally find after playing the game once i give it a rating, its just a habit, but there are so many cases i wish i could cahange this, good work putting this forward, i hope it gets considered.
