That really is strange.

The 200th b-day of Abe Lincoln...that's pretty cool. Isn't it the b-day of Charles Darwin and Edgar Allen Poe as well?

Darwin - February 12, 1809
Lincoln - February 12, 1809
Poe - January 19, 1809

What a wonderful and unrecognized coincidence.

I am amazied that so many people didn'y know it was Abe's birthday yesterday. Especially from Americans I would expect it would be on the news etc.

The BBC has done a whole Darwin season and have almost dedicated BBC4 to him for the past few weeks.

I also didn't knew, who even cares about the birthdays of old presidents. It should be about what they have done, not just another celebration.

Well the whole point of celebrating their birthdays is to celebrate the things they have done, and to celebrate the people that they were. It's not just because we are celebrating their birthday. It's more in remembrance. If you were going to pick a day of remembrance of a person, it would most likely be the day they were born, so thats what they did.
