I have nothing against these people but I just want to see what other people think of them. They obviously have reasons for being what they are, but what are these reasons?

Oh and does anybody know what the shortened word Emo actualy means. Because Goth means Gothic but Emo means...?

Emotional.

I have a slight problem with the modern emos, because they are... they are using a name that meant something else, and seemingly have brought the reputation of cutting upon them, which means that regular depressed teenagers have the word emo put upon them, instead of just what they are.

Emotional.

Ah yes that makes sense. You are right about them causing themselves to be stereotyped. What is the point of cutting? It isn't cool. Nobody finds it attractive. It causes pain and it not good for your health.

There is two reasons, I guess.
Emos: I am so depressed. (Actually part of their image, most of them have not hurt themselves ever.
The rest: Mind hurts, but that is hard to handle. So cutting will make it physical and easier to handle. And those are unlikely to show other people.

I agree on that theory. Does anybody else have anything to say?

Well, i am both of them. But i am not really like what acerman said. I dont blame myself.
Then, not all emos are bad or depressed.
I know that sometimes i can be really breaking down or havent got clue what really happens. Just pains were on my head. it can makes me really emo, but it wont stay longer.

N0T all emo people. There are so many emos who dont cut themselves. Emos have some emotional problems, but it doesnt mean that all of them must cut themselves. Err, Riou? U havent met emo? Well, i'm your friend on your list & i'm also emo ._.

Any ideas about this topic?

Yeah man all or most people think emos are crazy, suicidal and ant to cut themselves. I know and knew alot of emo people and none of em were suicidal. Most of em just liked the style of clothing

Well i dont understnad emo people( those that lead comfortable lives that is). Life is so nice yet they tend to be pessimistic! Lift your spirits people! And I dont like Gothic culture though I am interested in the real Goths, barbarians that invaded the Roman Empire.

I used to be Emotional, i got over it though.

Its just a hole where some people fall in, and its quite hard to get out.

I think it was a new low when I saw people at my school comparing cuts (wtf). At least they are better than chavs, who scare the hell out of me.

I have been labelled emo before and people made alot of assumptions about me. None of them true but it was fun to mess with them for a while.

It's still funny...

i dont think cutting there wrists or anywhere else solves the problem, if u just talk it out with someone it will help but i have no problem for emo and gothic it is there own choice

You know what...I don't see this thread being productive. The last one we had was barely decent.

Going to just, you know....burninate this thread.
