chickens do not fly, they can thrust themselves into the air, but they'll allways come back down, flapping or not. Think of their "glide" as a suspended jump.
They do. Some hippies in my neighborhood have chickens, and I've seen em fly cutting through they're yard before, many times. They just suck at it and don't like to do it much.
