Over the years there have been many discussions on who the best guitarist is. From personal experience I'd have to say Dimebag Darrel, but I'd like to know what you guys think.

Well, my favorites would be Angus Young in AC/DC and Kirk Hammett in Metallica. Those in my opinion are the best guitarist. Including the legendary Jimi Hendrix.

My opinion, is that the best guitarist is Yngwie J. Malmsteen

I think that Jimi Hendric un undoubtedly the best guitarist ever. He is just so beautiful in the way he plays and the sounds his guitar makes are magical. Plus he always looked like he was enjoying himself.

(Even his feedback is great)

My favourite though is Pete Townshend. He had alot of energy and was/is terrific live. Great songs and great playing. Below id their version of Young Man BLues at the Isle of wight festival unfouruneatly I can't find the Woodstock version of Sparks anywhere. It much better shows Townshends skills than this video.

Dimebag is not the best but he's good he just created a diffrent sound and style then most people of his time. Like Jimi Hendrix created distortion and the guitarest from Black Sabbath came up with all the metal riffs. Doesn't mean there the best.

Jimi Hendrix is definately important. He invented most of the techniques we use today. maybe if he had lived a little longer and gotten more skilled i's consder him the best, but I've learned songs of all the supposed guitar legends and I still think Dimebag's songs are hardest.
