You can prepare by becoming a christian and accepting Jesus to be your savior. Only christians will be able to go to heaven. So if you honor and serve the Lord you will be prepared.
I'm too lazy to read all the posts, but what I am getting is a misunderstanding of the term "rapture". The Rapture is a western christian ideal in which all the believers will be taken up into heaven prior to the end times. It is not Jesus' second coming, judgment day, and all the followers of Christ going to heaven.
As such, the Rapture is a false doctrine, one that magically appeared in theology in the early 1800's. Christians will experience the end times, as long as they are still alive during that time. Christians will get to see the second coming, and get to spend 1000 years on the new earth.
If i misread the prior posts, than well...ignore me and move on with your lives
frank2314, It most certainly began showing up in western literature and sermons in the early 1800's. Thats a fact.
"The concept of a pretribulation rapture was articulated by Baptist Morgan Edwards in an essay published in 1788 in Philadelphia." Morgan Edwards: An Eighteenth Century Pretribulationist.
