Hey, I'm learning guitar, and I was wondering if any of you could suggest some basic songs I may practice on. I'm fairly new, so nothing to extreme. I like to play classic rock or something that sounds soft. I know a bunch of chords, so throw any suggestions at me.
of course the easiest two songs are Smoke on the Water and Iron man. Wild thing is easy. You could probably learn any punk rock song they're all easy. If you've been playin for over 6 months i'd suggest (call me crazy) ain't talkin about love by Van Halen.
I ROFLed at Smoke on the Water, haha. Everyone knows that one. You suggested some good songs, but I don't play Rock 'n Roll. Any other suggestions? Thanks a lot.
Perfect! I was just about to recommend "Blackbird" by The Beatles. It's one of the first songs I learned to play on guitar, and is great as an introduction to fingerpicking concepts.
I play Bass guitar and the bass really ends up playing the root notes of the guitar or a slight varition because of the lower octaves, I would suggest maybe U2-With or Without You, CCR-Lookin Out My Back Door or Fortunate Son, Coldplay-Clocks. I understand what it's like just starting out, I started with softer stuff and I've gradually moved up to playing hard rock and metal.
