I say go for the croc!!! Just make sure you get it when its small and play with it a lot so that it's used to you, that way there less chance of it attacking you. That's what you do with large snakes, and it works well.

I agree with dacer!!! Snakes are awesome. I have one and it's soo cute!
Cats on the other hand, they can either leave you alone, but they can also be in your face and never leave you alone like dogs can. It depends on their personality really.
