I couldn't help but notice that people define being a man based on brawn and hairy underarms. Personally I think a boy becomes a man when he puts his wants and needs aside for others and carries himself with dignity but then again that's my opinion. So what do you think makes a man?
Usually the development of a person's maturity is a sign of becoming a man. Although some people, even if they are old are immature compared to others. Most accept a person to become a man when they turn eighteen or something. Like Nichodemus said, there is no fixed definition and there are many different beliefs and ideas, of when a boy becomes a man.

I also agree. In some cultures a boy becomes an adult at an age EARLIER than eighteen.
