You get 20 Stat points to distribute to those 4 stats here is a basic explanation of them
Power - Increases damage of melee type moves and helps you break through hard objects
Defense - Decreases damage of all kinds of enemy moves
Speed - Helps you attack faster and attack more accurately
Brains - Helps you think and get around obstacles when needed
You must distribute at least 1 stat point in each of those stats because all are important and having only 1 brain means you can't get around much and having no power means you can't break through anything...

Level 1 - Rookie Digimon
