I read the whole post, I just interpreted it differently. Also, you don't have to be so abrasive. Just chill out, this is supposed to be a *friendly debate.*

Lol cometman I'm not entirely sure where you are getting some of their ideas. I myself would like to see the answers you have to Alric's questions too.

While the United States (I see little reason to call it America) may not be the most liked country in the world, our lives are are no more in danger from bombs than from sharks whilst swimming in your local fresh-water river, perhaps less.

The standards of gold and silver led to financial instability more than anything else as far as I can tell. Since all of the world superpowers that I can think of use paper money, I'm not really sure it will be a threat for them to suddenly stop trading with us for fear of our paper not actually being worth anything.

Masquerade - I sincerely doubt thelistman was implying that cometman was a racist for hating America. Hating the "melting pot of the world" can hardly be classified of racism, since we probably have the most diverse ethnicity of any nation on the planet. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.)

The racial slur "cracker" refers to caucasian people, not Americans. You can call a Brit or a German a cracker. It might not mean anything to them, but it makes more sense than saying it to a black American.

I'm guessing he meant cometman is a racist because of the seeming Arabic slur:

most likely to die from (aaaa la la la la... boooom!)

By the way... I spent eight months working side-by-side with over 140 Iraqis, and I have more respect for the work ethic most Iraqis have than many of the Americans I've worked with. They're intelligent, caring, hard-working people just trying to play the hand they've been dealt. They're glad we're there, and they're glad Saddam Hussein is gone. They appreciate that we're doing what we can to help rebuild their nation.

And Masque... you're coming across as a snide, cocky pseudo-know it all American. Peppering your poorly written paragraph with a few long words only impresses those who aren't well-read. And I realize this is ad hominem, but hypocrisy fires me up. Especially pseudo-intellectual hypocrisy.

By the way... if you want something to get mad about, get mad about American, Iraqi, and third country contractors bilking Americans. Get mad about the fact that Iraq earned $90 billion...that's billion with a B... in oil revenue between 2005 and 2007, and only spent 10% of that on reconstrution, while billions of U.S. dollars continue to roll in. Get mad about the Iraqi government stashing their oil revenues in the Federal Reserve Bank instead of using it to help its people. And by the way... The U.S. government paid them $435.6 million in INTEREST on the money Iraq should have been using to help its own people.

Yes, this indicates a lot of screw-ups and possibly some corruption on our side, but if Iraq isn't ready when President Obama pulls us out of there, I'm ready and willing to point an angry finger at the Iraqi government.

As for the OP being stupid... I think it rare and admirable of him to care so much about the government at such a young age. I just think he needs to do a little research and form an opinion of his own, because it sounds like he's regurgitating what he's heard from friends, family, or even worse... a teacher.

Once again I posted without rereading what I write. I wonder why we can't edit our posts?

Grr! One last time, I promise...

Hating the "melting pot of the world" can hardly be classified as racism...

Mirage, give us some examples of world superpowers that don't use "air money" as you call it. Think about it. The pound. The euro. The franc. The peso. The yen. The yan. Almost every superpower country in the world uses air money, so why is it only bad for the USA to have it?

So where did you get this idea that our country is soon going to collapse from a lack of trade and a barrage of terrorist attacks? And where did you hear that our country is so hated?

and what more is there to say i mean i can you got me in a hole and im diging it deeper so..... if this were a debate(not saying it was) you would of definatly won

I'm not trying to "win" an argument, I'm trying to understand where you're getting your information, and I'm trying to convince you that you should form your own opinions.

You're obviously intelligent, so you should do a little research on the topics that interest you. Make sure you read more than one paper on a topic, by the way, or you may read a biased opinion and not have anything to which you can compare it.

As for spelling... it doesn't come naturally to everyone. My recommendation would be that you type your posts in Microsoft Word, which will spellcheck what you write, then make corrections, THEN post. Your posts will look better, which will make people take you more seriously. And you'll probably start to learn how to spell better.

There is also a spellchecker in Mozilla Firefox and Safari.

If you Americans hate your country then why don't you move out of your country? There is no purpose in calling America a "trap country" if you live in it.

The gold standard is outdated and inefficient. Air money, or paper money is simply used to represent the value of goods. It is much better than bartering.

This is not a debate, it is a discussion.

knight_34 - For one thing, he's 13. For almost all Americans, 18 is the age of majority.

And while its easy to sit behind a keyboard and talk trash about a person, group of people, or country, expatriation is kind of an extreme step.

I agree that this wasn't a debate, at least from my end of the discussion, and I said as much. But I'm curious to hear why you felt the need to voice that opinion. On what evidence are you basing the assertion that this is not a debate?

This doesn't seem to be a debate because there is no formal argument.

The thread began like this -

ok i belive we need to make a better contrey becuase we use air money (paper money with no value of gold or silver) and most likely to die from (aaaa la la la la... boooom!) and are most hated so what do you think?

The user simply asked for our opinions and did not seek to make a debate.

I suggest to some people, to get information before flinging your beliefs at us. Everyone should know that their is an important reason why paper money is used.

When it comes to "air money" it's important to know why money is called a &quotromissory note." Because it promises that a value will be paid.

Yes, cometman, you do seem pretty intelligent; spelling is just not everyone's forte.
