I'm using Firefox and for the second time I went to Armor Picross and it says I haven't completed anything.

Why is this happening and how do I prevent it? I haven't done anything, haven't erased cookies or cleared temp files.

Take a look at this thread: [url]

It's about sonny 2 save file, but I think it's the same problem and for you will be the same solution.

Are you using the same user profile? What OS do you have? XP? Vista?

I searched my harddrive for any file or folder containing &quoticross" no luck. Any idea why this would have happened?

Having the same problem, I've found the file picross2 uses (ap2_armorstudios.sol) and it seems it is overwritten each time game is loaded, tried to make a copy of the file and replace after the game loads but doesn't work

Maybe, try and delete some cookies, maybe it's a Trojan virus that's causing you this nightmare. If that's not it, then I don't think that I can help you out, sorry.

dont think is a cookie issue, and I'm pretty sure my computer is not infected, tried loading the same game from different hosts and different browsers with no luck, pop-ups and cookies are enabled

Armor Picross 2 has always worked properly for me, and I have played it for a long while. I have not used the same computer.
The last time it worked for me I used computer A. I then had to leave that computer, and I now only have computer B and C available for testing. It worked properly on computer B last christmas, when I tried.
As soon as I tried it on computer B this summer though, I noticed the same thingas you did marcusjb, that it doesn't save my progress. I thought that Mozilla Firefox was weird on computer B, but I then noticed that the same thing has happened everywhere. IE, Firefox, computer B, computer C, here on armorgames.com, or over at newgrounds, it works nowhere, no how, and I've checked all my cookies and everything. I am unfortunately not able to try computer A at the moment.

Why did this happen all of a sudden?

I mean, I could live with that all my old data is erased, but now all the data, also the just created data, disappears as soon as I leave the site. Isn't this really something that needs to be fixed?

The cookies most likely expired. Firefox's only downside is you can't choose when the cookies expire. So yes, it is most likely a cookie problem.

Cookie problem, suddenly appearing exactly at the same time on both the computers I tested, and I tried both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox on both of them? I don't think so.

The problem isn't that my old cookies expired and my old progress is lost:
The problem is that it throws out all the newly created cookies as soon as I go to another site or close the browser. Nothing is saved, not even for 10 seconds.

This must be some in game bug because flash's shared objects (.sol files) have nothing common with cookies and they are not deleted when you clean your browser's cache. One of the possibilities for this is that it uses too much space (~167 kb) and normally users have default value set to 100 kb and that's for all games from the whole site but choosing higher limit doesn't solve this (file exists but game seems to have problems with loading it).

Same problem for me too. Doesn't work on Firefox 3.5 and works on my old IE 6.0!

I don't know how I can solve this, but I have an anorthodox solution for you! If you use Firefox, install this add-on:
Video DownloadHelper

After you install it, download the "armor-picross-2-338.swf" file from the icon of the DownloadHelper, and open it with GOM player or every other player supports flash files. If you don't have GOM, don't worry, it's free, and here's a link:

Oh, and this way the progress is not lost. It works fine. (just make sure you choose "allow" when the adobe player asks you something about saving data)
