Well, the question here is, "What makes a spam thread, a spam thread?" Is it useless titles, or are they 1-5 word posts on the first post? I've seen pretty large threads with both, the "70% of people listening to hip hop/rap" thread and SEEEVERAL vs threads have useless titles and purposes. So, what does a spam thread make? I'm also NOT, repeat, NOT, making in senses of troll threads where,it's random noobish or random letters splurting around all over the place, "I.e. title "FUCK YOU ARMORGAMES" with the first post as the following: "PFOIEAMFAP9WEU GHAOW 4EH TEGAW'[GJUAE4[TGHQ498QT24-5Y19483QUET-4CHANROOLZFEAWPIOFJAWOEUIFHAWEPOFIJAWOEIGF" So yeah, what exactly is a spam thread? (not a troll thread, a spam thread)
Usually it is threads that does not have a purpose. That can be answered easily, in one or a few words. Dublicates is another problem. Threads where the conversation has lost purpose or sight of the topic. Threads that has been answered and people keep posting in, because they are too lazy to read all but the title. Or only the OP. Threads that has a lack of constructive posts, where the users have no answer, but posts anyway to tell they do not know, or to come with random answers they think might work. Misplaced threads, where no one actually care of the topic at hand, but only that it is misplaced. Threads that will end in spam, but the reason of the spam is people telling that it is spam, and it should be locked.

Exactley what Cenere said. And yes, it is sad. Some of the people who create those threads shouldent be on the sight in the first place.
i don't think you can condemn a thread as spam because it will 'end in spam' if that is because a few people are convinced it is and therefore start oing on about how it is, killing conversation and MAKING it spam... not until it actually happens lol
further point, if a topic is not in the right place, i hate when people post loads calling it spam for being in the wrong place... if they suggested getting it moved instead of writing 'this is spam, please lock it' and thus filling the post up with useless comments before it has a chance at life.. well it just annoys me when that happens! The topic is often constructive but misplaced, and some people obviously LIVE for fishing these out and condemning them, because it happens far too much :-/

Any how, I tihnk it gets locked, for what is going into it. If it is stuipd, a hate thread, or something that will not spark disscussion, then it gets locked.

I'm also talking in turn of literal spam threads, I saw a thread called, "Spam thread" and thought what defines a spam thread in general, instead of it's contents (besides FP)
