There have been alot of bands and groups that have lost a main singer. Some replaced them like ACDC, Escape the fate, and The Ramones. Others have just stopped and went there seperate ways, Nirvana. What is you guys view on this? I personally think that the band should go there seperate ways unless it improves there sound.

I think they should stick together as long as the fans are happy.

By the way does this have to be specific to singers 'cos The Who were never the same after Keith Moon died (he did sing occasionally if that counts)

I'm with pixie on this, I mean the band shouldn't go on playing just to sell records and get money, and the band often changes if the singer leaves.

I think this is situational. If the band can't recover from the loss and just can't keep playing music w/o the member for whatever reason (emotional or professional) ie. Led Zeppelin
If the band can find a new singer and make a new sound, and not play a whole lot of old songs, than their fine with keeping the name and the band. Ie. Killswitch Engage
If the band wants to continue doing what they do and do it very poorly, go for it, sell-out make some money. there are going to be a whole lot of angry people, but a whole lot more fools listening to your music and your going to make a crap-ton of money. ie. Metallica
