I hope that it's acceptable that I may help in this question, even though I'm lacking the skills and title of moderator. But I believe that you may be banned for as many times or length of time as a moderator sees fit.
We don't normally publicly announce whether any particular user has had a temp ban unless there is a real need for it, such as when conduct is sufficiently bad enough that we feel it necessary to state that such conduct can (and will) get one banned.
Of course, all mods know who has been banned because we all link up to each other using telepathic alpha-wave connections. It's part of the initiation.
That has already been answered by Lige: there is no limit.
There is, however, a limit to our patience so once we find you've been temporarily banned "too many" times, we'll consider permanently banning you. And that's a one-time only, obviously.
What "too many" means varies on a case-by-case basis.
Yeah, I've heard that there isn't a limit on temp bans, but permanent bans. . .there is a limit of one ---------

That paragraph suddenly made me really want to be a mod for the sake of telepathy. (Telepathy!)

Are you guys that bored that you need to mess with the newbies minds? ^.^
