So, yesterday, While playing CoD WaW on my PS3, the servers started to glitch, and reset the graphic of peoples' ranks to 1.... not any big deal, this happens when the server lags. What i didn't expect is that my next game, none of my classes worked, and i was stuck with only a colt pistol and 1 grenade. So i logged off, hoping that the game would correct the error when i logged on next.
So i get on tonite, and see that I am still rank 1, and that my Score, Time played, and Deaths (reset to 3) have been reset... NOTHING ELSE. 4205 kills to 3 deaths. I have all weapons unlocked as i did at my previous rank (was at 64, so i still do not have the carbine, or flamethrower) and can use all my custom classes, even at rank one. I'm kind of upset, but at the same time, its kinda cool to have the best kill to death ratio on the game. (800 kills to deaths, with only a 20 kill streak lol)
So, has anything like this ever happened to anyone else? or is this an isolated incident?
I've posted customer support claims on callofduty.com, activision.com, and many of the other associated sites to get an answer, and to resolve my problem, but if anyone else has experienced this problem, I'd like to know if there is anything i can do.
For now, its kinda awesome. I'm the only person below rank 10 who can use the ptrs (people harass me and say im hacking... its not my fault) and all of my challenges are already complete for the most part, so i will have all upgrades in a short while.
HA! No, I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing at Treyarch for making such a FAIL! Although COD5 does provide a short amount of entertainment, it certainly has more holes and bugs than rotton swiss cheese!
It's never happened to me or nothing but i believe you. I love CoD 5 but i do agree with Pricklykiller on one part though, CoD 5 has loads of bug and glitches.
well, its pretty much official that they cannot do anything about it. I talked to some people who had it happen on 4, and it just erases the stats from treyarch's database.... which is why it only partially erased my info. For now, im enjoying being the only rank 8 with everything unlocked as far as weapons (not the carbine or flamethrower... but oh well) and having the best KDR on the game.... its now at around 80 kills per death, since i have been playing and trying to rank... each death really knocks the count down, so i don't expect to be inflated for too long, althought it will start to steady out around 10-15 kills per death, which is still crazy, since the next best is 5 kills per death xD
Nope... it seems its permanant... I have been working my way back up (im back to like level 10, KDR is now about 94 kills per death, and im slowly completeing headshot challenges for the extra xp... since most of my other ones were completed due to the fact i was driving to prestige that same day it happened.
Ah, that's still very unfortunate mate, but it seems to me that at times, life likes to get you back, and they always seem to take away something you worked hard for.
Yea, I was pretty mad at first, but once i realized that it made me #1 in the world in kills to deaths... i figured i would just take it for what it was, and start over to try to work my way back up (and its like starting with 4200 kills already in the bag xD... but no challenges)
