that's because even though the site forbids children under 13 to join they still do. They lie about their age in order to join, it's not really an enforced rule as long as that person is mature enough to be here. I know a few people that are very involved in this site that are under 13. Firetail is, unless he had a birthday, he was 12, I'm not positive if he still is.
well i have a friend on my friends list who is 9 years old he has like 2000+ AP
We habitually discuss the censor and every now and then it does come to our attention that there are inconsistencies. One reason for this is because the censorship filter is manually implemented. Another reason is that for no apparent reason, certain instances can occasionally make it past the filter- and that's not an issue endemic to this forum.
However, if you're actually complaining about the censorship filter, grow up. The filter is there mainly for legal reasons. Must we really take it to heart that it's there to protect you from yourselves?
I think only the most hurtful vulgarities like the f word should be deleted. But r.a.p.e is just a technical term. People just get over it with the dots.
The only one i don't understand is d.a.m.n. but it's really not that big of a deal. R.ape needs to stay blocked imo. I hope one day AG goes ahead and filters out the letter/dots combo (again, if it's possible) for all blocked codes.
On a side note should we flag a comment in which someone bypasses the filter? I mean, even if it's not that vulgar it's bypassing a filter that AG placed.....just wondering.
It is said over and over again that AG is a "PG-13 community" yet words like r.ape and d.amn are blocked. It's misleading.
Actually even though I am not sure about this I believe there were laws implemented a while back concerning the use of the internet.I think the name for the law was something like the child internet protection law or something thing(I know it had Child and Protection in it somewhere, but probably a bit different in name) but I believe it was concerning people using the internet under the age of 13.I am not sure but just about every site nowadays is 13+ it seems,so while it may seem like its supposed to be a 13+ site I think they know that their are people who are going to take offense to some of these words anyways, along with their also being people who lie about their age,but this is all just theory of course.
I typed in pussycat before and it blocked the first part, and I've never seen raped/rapes not blocked. I think the censors do a good job.
Not that I like censorship~
