This is a handful of tips and tricks that I have learned after quite a bit of playing Last Stand 2. While you can really play through the whole game using any weapon combinations that you want, the two weapons that I highly recommend using (when obtained) are the chainsaw and another fully automatic weapon (preferably ak-47.) This is so that if a grouping of slow zombies is coming towards your barrier you can mow them down from a distance with your fully automatic weapon and not risk them getting close enough to deal enough damage. You use the chainsaw in case running zombies come ahead and you can be rid of them as quickly as possible. If a dog is running at you just shoot it because it can't take many hits. Even if it reaches your barrier just finish it off. And always, when using a weapon that uses ammunition, remember to reload when there is a break in between groups of attacking zombies. I found that the zombies did the most damage was when I was busy reloading. Luckily, the reloading process is quick and easy, with the exception of the chainsaw. Use every bit of the chainsaws "ammo" as possible, as it has the longest reload of all weapons. Something else to remember is even on an easy battle, always shoot and kill as if it will be your last. The more accurate you are and the less damage you take, the more time you can spend afterwards searching for survivors and weapons rather than wasting them repairing your barricade. Also, if you get a survivor and you have a large arsenal of weapons, don't just leave them with their pistol. I recommend giving them a machine gun or other fully automatic weapon. If you have enough machine guns and quite a few survivors then give them all machine guns. Although they don't shoot them as much they fire accurately and will shoot more than one bullet at a time. I found that another weapon besides machine guns that work well in combination with the chainsaw is the compound bow or shotgun. Don't be deceived by its name, the compound bow has virtually no reload and can fire arrows faster than the pistol can shoot its bullets. It can take as little as two arrows to kill a zombie so headshots are key. The shotgun is good when you just need to pump attacking zombies full of lead. It has high damage, but the downfall is that it has the slowest reload time, since the character has to reload each bullet one at a time. If you have any other questions or need help just leave me a comment on my profile and I will get back to you sooner or later. Have fun!
Rayzac33, you read my mind. THE HUNTING RIFLE IS A 1 SHOT KILL FROM A HEADSHOT! The bullets even punch through zombies to hit targets behind them! Give your survivors the machine guns and shotguns as soon as you get the rifle and let them back you up.
If too many zombies are charging at once, use the chainsaw as backup- it has a huge clip [50] and does decent damage. The only problem with the hunting rifle is that it's slow (1 round per clip), so if you don't have survivors with other weapons, you die really quick. Until you get the Hunting Rifle, use the .357 (Revolver/Magnum)as it does decent damage per shot. REMEMBER, HEADSHOTS DO THE MOST DAMAGE, SO AIM HIGH WITH POWERFUL WEAPONS!
Things you can give to survivors: Pistol .357 Uzi Ump Minime (Why would you want too?) Hunting Rifle (Personal favourite ) Shotgun(s) AK 47 M4A1 Have I forgotten something? Things you can't: RPG (Sadly) Chainsaw Compound Bow Grenades Have I forgotten something?
There it is... Unless, that is, I've forgotten something...
