After humanity, some species will eventually take our place. Personally, I think that it will be jellyfish. Flying jellyfish to be exact. They will evolve to become impervious to all known weapons and learn how to fly. When this happens, they will migrate onto the land. If there are still any humans left, they will zap them with their electric death rays of death to paralyze them (They can choose how much voltage to zap people with), stick their tentaccles down the person's ears and into their brain. There they will lay their eggs, which will hatch after a couple weeks, causing the human's head to EXPLODE!

Very interesting and it could happen... one day.

I think it was just after the KT extinction (or maybe the permian) that turtles could have been the dominant species on the planet but instead they went for slow long lasting lives. Oh well in the future giant killer turltes could be about.

Umm.... Jellyfish aren't exactly the most advanced species and cockroaches can withstand way more.

@Graham: What the?

Hmm, this thoery sounds a little too... how sall I put this? Immature? I mean, death rays, flying jeelyfish? It might take a few octillian years to have even minuscoule chance of it happening. A rando guess of a species that would be an ultimate race after humans would be... either lizards or salamanders, because they are sort of distant relatives ftom dinosaurs. I think.
