I have just found out that Chaos Faction 2 is near completion and DP is planning to release it around Easter. That's only a month or two from now! Hurray! (It's been like a year or two since Chaos Faction was released. It sure took a long time to make the sequel.)
I have a burning hatred for the first two too, and shotguns. Usually let enemies accidentally blow themselves up, while I stay clear from the mines. What about favorite weapons? Mine would include the sniper rifle, all the swords, the raygun, the freeze ray, baseball bat and the minigun.
Except maybe tasers, ray guns, mousetraps, nets, and dark energy. Those are the only ones that I actually use. Quick Swiping is better than all the other items.
Survival is so unfair because of the items... After 20 kills or so, the skill factor is pretty much 0, and the entire thing is the luck factor. If an enemy picks up mines, then you lose. They'll cover up half the map with them, which makes your mobility a lot worse, and plus you'll probably die when the CPUs suicide themselves.
Good luck. Some people may be exploiting a glitch in the game, which inserts random characters standing around doing nothing.. Lots of them.
Yeah, the luck does play a big role eventually. When the AI is at its max, it'll only be about who picks up which weapons first. I usually pick up all of the crates as the enemy spawns.
I was taking a screen video, and the game glitched. I got around 13 kills with two rage punches. And then the game lagged down. I refreshed the page and the glitch was no more.
Last time I checked the first place guy had 83 kills. For certain the record is higher now. Just how does someone get 83 kills normally, is something I can't put my finger on.
After 15-20 kills, it's not as dependent on skill anymore. In fact, luck is a bigger factor than anything else, espeacially if you're going for top places in the leaderboard like I am. I do not have a doubt that I could reach 70-80 kills if there were no items in survival. 3 or 4 (usually 4) of my deaths in each survival match I play are because of unlucky item spawns, where they just happen to be things like ray guns or RPG's, and they happen to spawn too close to the enemy for me to throw them away before they can reach it.
And apparently the 1st place guy now has 92 kills, or something like that. 1st, 2nd and 3rd are all occupied by one guy, it seems.
My current high score is 56, and unless if somebody beat me recently, I'm 4th on the leaderboards.
I think my technique (which has improved considerably since the time when I made the video that I'm uploading now) is pretty good as it is, and the only real factor is luck. I can get 28 kills on a single life, but then only 7 kills with 4 lives, because of extreme bad luck with weapon spawn/placement.
I'm suckish. But after the first death everything does go down. The enemy has the advantage of having a weapon in hand. And since he's just killed you, it probably throws the balance off.
You're absolutely right about that, knight. It's even worse for you if they're equipped with a flamethrower, ray gun, taser, net, dark energy, stick grenades, or RPG because then they'll be ready to kill or severly damage you right after you spawn.
I've begun to use sniper rifles in survival more often. Stand under the left side of the platform in the middle, once they get to that platform, go right a bit and shoot them when they drop down. I sometimes to do same with dark energy.
Also, a random piece of advice: STAY ON THE LOWEST LEVEL AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. Unless if you have a good reason to go up (getting rid of a weapon, a potential air-X into juggle or rage attack, etc), then don't. Enemies like using Quick Swipes sometimes too, and they can be pretty good at it. The only thing is that they never use my short-hopping strategy; therefore, you are on equal footing with them in the air, but you can potentially have a major advantage on the ground.
I usually don't find the flamethrower too annoying. But the others are indeed. Sniper rifles are good easy kills. If the enemy walks in front of you, shoot and pow he's dead. IMO, the best defense against snipers would be to jump. I usually jump over snipers, go around their backs and go melee on them. Yeah, your sniper strategy is effective. I've used it before.
