Well I read all the books not particulaly 'cos I was a fan mainly just because I read the first ones when I was a kid and, well, had to finish them. THey are good books and have inspired many young kids of both sexes to read (which is a major achievement with flagging literacy rates). The series have good characters and storylines but Harry, specifically, is not that good. I don't really like him and his persoanlity. Ron though is cool.
I also read all the books, though it is possible to see the downgrade in the books from the first (awesome) till the seventh (which I finished reading by sheer will-power because it was so boring and written terribly).
I have read all the books and I can't wait for the rest of the movies to come out I hate waiting for something.Does anyone know when the 6th will come out?

I think it may have been delayed but I think the "official" date is 17 July 2009. I bet the film guys were kicking themselves when they read the last book. If they do it right their is gonna be alot of cool special effects.
check here for any Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince information needed. I love using that site.
I personally am a big Harry Potter fan. I read the entire series in a matter of months, I never read any till last year, but once I read the first one, I was hooked. Also, I'm saddened that she said she will not be writing an 8th book, there really is no way to do it anyway. I suppose she could rewrite the series from Ron's perspective, that would be really quite interesting.
She did mention there is the possibility of an 8th book. I can't wait!
As far as my favorite Harry Potter book goes, it has to be the 4th. The Tri-Wizard tournament had me reading day and night. With the movies, I have to say the same, the 4th movie was executed exceptionally. I cant wait for the 6th though, that one looks like it will be great too.
Well about the movies, I can't wait for the sixth also. And about the seventh I either heard or thought it'd be a good idea to split it into 2 parts. There's simply too much in the 7th to fit everything important into 2-3 hours. :/
Pixie's story of reading the books is about the same for me. There was a time that I didn't want to read the books, so in the middle of the 5th, I quit reading them. Then, when the power went out, I started the 5th from the beginning and got hooked on them again. Then I read the sixth and seventh, then the whole series again. It's actually quite interesting to read it over again after you've read the last one. Makes a lot of things seem a lot more clear.
I read all of the books the movies have been a disappointment to me...im pretty sure Hogwarts has changed about three times and some of the things that they do in the movie are just for show and not really following the books that good....they should have just waited and shot the films quick one after another
I love the books (re-reading them for the second or third time right now, can't remember) but the movies are just ok. They seem to be getting better, but the first, second, and fourth were pretty horrible. Especially the second. I think it's useful to read them more than once because you catch a lot of the stuff you didn't before.
I must admit, I am a Harry Potter fan, like the many others out there. I listened to the first 4 on tape, then read the others pretty fast. Before the 7th one came out, I read them all again. I like the consider the movies and the books seperate things, and that doesn't just go for harry potter. The movie can't be just like the book, and sometimes they are so drasticly changed that you wouldn't recognize them.
