But I'm not sure if that's a classic since they still sell it in stores (despite it being released in 1998) and it is the most popular RTS game (and second most popular video game) in the world.
That's going to become a classic game in a couple of years.
Heh... Mario Kart 64 and StarCraft are considered 'classics' now? I must be getting old..
Mario Kart 64 is actually my favorite of the entire series, as well, though I do like MKDS with R.O.B... and Brawl with him too :3
As for me, my favorite 8-bit-era games would include Mega Man 2 and 3, the Guardian Legend, Super Mario Bros. 3, etc. My favorite 16-bit-era games are almost innumerable, but to name a few.. Sonic 3 and Knuckles, Super Mario World 1 and 2, Super Metroid, Zelda: Link to the Past, Final Fantasy 4-6, Lufia 1 and 2, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Mega Man 7, Mega Man X... and many many more.
I don't know if this is considered a classic, but I like LoZ: Ocarina of Time. The story, the music, and the use of the Master Sword to go back in time, or forward. A lot of things changed in 7 years..
i always liked the original super mario bros, and LoZ... but if we're including nintendo 64... Mario Kart 64: Super Smash Bros: LoZ: ocarina of time/majoras mask: Star Fox 64: the list goes on lol
